Meeting Comics, Heathcliff, Meeting Comics
I've been drawing, writing, interviewing, and shipping
Hello again
Here’s my second installation of the new version of the Meeting Comics newsletter, in which I no longer reprint the comics, I just kind of let you know what’s up.
Meeting Comics page 500
Friends, I just drew the 500th page of Meeting Comics, which is also the 19th page of Meeting Comics 21. I’m pretty astounded by this. “What’s going on in Meeting Comics #21,” you may be wondering. Well, it’s the first ever issue-length Meeting Comics flashback story.
The story is called “Where The Rent Went.” It’s about Val. It’s set in 1996. It’s a punk band roommate drama mystery comedy. I’m currently serializing the story at my patreon. Here are some preview images:
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous going into this issue, but it’s turning out well!
CAME THROUGH CLIFFIN
In April, SOLRAD published an essay I wrote about Heathcliff. This led to me being able to interview Heathcliff cartoonist Peter Gallagher, and this interview ran on SOLRAD yesterday. I’m proud of both of these pieces, which have helped cement my new reputation as THE BAD BOY OF COMICS JOURNALISM.
Here’s the essay:
Unrepentant, Or: How To Read Heathcliff
And here’s the interview:
Let the Art Stand for Itself: A Conversation With Peter Gallagher
Spoilers: I love Heathcliff, and I found Peter Gallagher to be a delight.
MEETING COMICS #19
Yesterday I shipped Meeting Comics #19 out to Patreon subscribers (people who pay $5 a month or more get a print issue of the comic every two months). It also shipped to people who preordered through my webstore.
This issue features Thomas, Kevin, Val, and the rest of the OnlyGreg roster as supporting characters with the focus on Tina and Ellie as they wrap up THE CASE OF THE EXECUTIVE EXORCISM! It’s the very first thirty-two page issue!
Print copies are available at my webstore.
PDF copies are availabel at my gumroad store.
OK, I think that’s enough. Take care!
Andrew
